Customer Case Study: Bespoke Cabin in Gloucester

Timber Building Specialists are delighted to show off our latest bespoke project in Gloucester, where we built a 10m x 4.5m log cabin to house a Swim Spa and gym equipment. This project demonstrates our expertise in creating custom timber solutions that combine functionality with style to deliver a space that meets the client’s lifestyle needs.

- Construction: Built with 70mm logs for strength and insulation.
- Insulation: Insulated floor and roof for all year round comfort and energy efficiency.
- Design Adaptation: Aluminium bifold doors retrofitted to fit with the existing Swim Spa to create indoor/outdoor flow.
- Exterior: Painted in anthracite and black for a modern look.
- Interior: Clear Osmo oil to protect and enhance the wood.
- Roof: EPDM rubber roofing for weather resistance and durability.
- Flooring: Internal composite deck boards for a durable and stylish floor.
Design and Build
The cabin is built with 70mm logs for strength and durability to house heavy gym equipment and a Swim Spa. The logs also provide great insulation so the interior is comfortable all year round regardless of the weather outside.
Custom Fit and Features
One of the main challenges was designing around an existing Swim Spa already in place. We retrofitted aluminium bifold doors to fit the unique layout and add a modern touch to the building. These doors create indoor/outdoor flow and add to the functionality and style of the cabin.
Style and Finishing
The exterior is painted in anthracite and black for a modern look. The interior is finished with clear Osmo oil to protect and enhance the wood and give a warm and elegant feel.
We used EPDM rubber roofing to ensure the cabin is weather proof. The internal space is finished with internal composite deck boards to complete the look.
